Our mission:
Hawkfest is a celebration of community dedicated to raising funds for the athletic and academic endeavors of Lowcountry Youth.
Our vision:
To create avenues both athletic and academic for our Lowcountry youth by funding organizations dedicated to the development of our community – one young adult at a time.
- A back-to-school celebration and a fundraiser to enhance support and give financial assistance for all organizations that support student athletes for the upcoming 2010-2011 school year. As well as the Strive to Excel Organization.
- All Beaufort County public schools will be invited to participate in the fundraising aspect to benefit their sports teams, PTAs and Booster Clubs. They may also use this event to disseminate information about activities at their schools for the new school year.
- A variety of local area restaurants will have the opportunity to rent space and sell food. Area businesses, community groups and sports teams are also encouraged to rent booths to sell goods or services.
- The 2010 Hawkfest Committee will be responsible for rental of Honey Horn site, parking, permits, security, advertising, rental of tents/tables, chairs, clean-up, cost of live entertainment and all hard costs associated with this event.
- Live events will include an 5K run/walk, kid’s area with inflatable climbing wall, moon jump and much, much more.
- All events will use tickets in place of cash. Teams/businesses will exchange tickets for proceeds at the end of the day. All cash will be controlled from one location by a designated committee with Hawkfest 2009.
- All businesses/teams participating will pay a $200 entry fee to help offset operational costs and 80% of their net proceeds will go to that team or business with 20% going to Hawkfest 2010. A business license is required by the Town of Hilton Head – if you do not have a business license, please alert your Hawkfest representative and one will be purchased for you for that day.
- Teams and vendors are welcome to choose an activity or sell goods. Regardless, all vendor requests must be approved by the 2010 Hawkfest Committee and will be granted on a first-come first serve basis.
- The 2010 Hawkfest Committee reserves the right to refuse vendors or activities
